Yoga poses for the circulatory system

The circulatory system composes of the vessels and the muscles that help and control the flow of the blood around the body. The main parts of the system are the heart, arteries, capillaries and veins. Yoga asana reinforce your heart muscle and improve the circulation.

Yoga poses help the circulatory system to work well by using less energy. During doing yoga postures, you can feel where your blood congested in some parts of the body. Normally, you do some postures and take a rest and then continue doing postures and take a rest again until you finish the session. Every time you take a rest you can feel the result of the blood circulatory from the last posture you just have done.

The difference between exercise and yoga asana is that exercise helps blood to circulate in all parts of the body while a yoga pose stimulates blood to circulate in a certain part of the body. For example, yoga postures bring blood to remain only in the significant internal organs of the abdominal, chest and head cavities. They do not focus on arm or leg muscles like exercises.

Yoga poses which benefit circulatory system are;

  1. Sun Salutation Pose
  2. Shoulder Stand Pose
  3. Headstand Yoga Pose
  4. Rabbit Yoga Pose
  5. Yoga Child Pose
