Marichi Pose (Marichyasana)


Marichi Pose (Marichi’s pose) or Marichyasana is a twist sitting pose. The pose purify the body by wringing toxins out of the internal organs. This pose is also called Sage’s Pose.
 

Benefits

1. Massages abdominal organs, including the liver and kidneys.

 

2. Stretches the shoulders.

3. Stimulates the brain.

4. Relieves mild backache and hip pain.

5. Strengthens and stretches the spine.

6. Wrings toxins out of the internal organ.

 

Instructions

 

1. Sit in Yoga Easy Pose, then cross your right leg over the bended left leg. Let the right foot on the floor. Put your both palms on the floor beside the torso. Keep your torso and spine straight.

2. Inhale and wrap your left arm with the right leg. Let the left elbow at the outer of right tight. Hold your right ankle with the left hand. Then, raise the right arm straight parallel to the floor.

3. With the exhalation, twist the torso to the right. Rotate your right arm to the right behind your torso. Press your right fingertips onto the floor just behind your pelvis. Open the chest and shoulder as much as possible. Stay in this position for 10 breathe rounds or as long as comfortable and then return to step1.
