Yoga Child Pose (Balasana)

Yoga Child Pose is a relaxation pose which is done to normalize the circulation after performing the Headstand pose and to serve as counter pose after backbends such as downward facing dog pose etc.

Benefits

1. Gently stretches the hips, thighs, and ankles.

2. Calms the brain and helps relieve stress and fatigue.

3. Relieves back and neck pain after exercising backbend poses.

Instructions

1. Sit down on your knee. Spread the knees slightly apart, keeping the big toes touching.



2. Bend forward and let your stomach touch your thighs and your forehead touch the floor. Relax your both arms by stretching them in front of you with the palms toward the floor or bring the arms back alongside the thighs with the palms facing upwards. Stay in the position as long as you feel comfortable.
