Yoga Triangle Pose (Trikonasana)

Triangle Pose provides an excellent and complete stretch throughout the entire body. It stimulates blood flow and helps to stretch and relax the back, shoulders, legs and arms. Doing this pose needs a lot of concentration and precision. A beginner may use a yoga block if applicable.

7. Relieves backache, especially through second trimester of pregnancy.

8. Therapeutic for anxiety, flat feet, infertility, neck pain, osteoporosis, and sciatica.

Instructions

1. Stand in Mountain pose (Tadasana). Then apart your feet around 3.5 – 4 feet. Inhale and raise both arms parallel to the floor with your palms facing down. Turn your right foot to the right and let your right thigh outward. Turn your left foot slightly to the right.

2. Exhale and extend your torso to the right. Keep the both legs straight. yoga triangle pose step2 image

3. Bring the right hand down and grasp your right ankle or if possible, let your right palm touch the floor out side the right leg. Raise your left arm up toward the ceiling. Turn your face upward to the left and gaze up at the fingertips of the left hand. Stay in the position for 30 seconds to 1 minute or as long as you feel comfortable.
